Update on Venerable Yangchen's Health - classess & workshops cancelled until 26 October 2010

Submitted by admin on Sat, 28/08/2010 - 10:00
As most students are already aware, Venerable Yangchen has regretfully had to cancel all meditation classes for the past two weeks.  This has been a very tough decision for Venerable Yangchen to make, but upon her doctor's orders & with the full backing of the MITS committee, she realises that she must take an extended break for six weeks, to allow her body to recover.

Venerable Yangchen has been working tirelessly, providing the benefits of meditation classes and workshops to the people of Sutherland Shire for six years.  Anyone who knows Venerable Yangchen well, will know that the amount of work and time that she devotes to her students must put an immense strain on her body.  That strain has taken its toll, & her body now needs a well-deserved rest.  At the urging of the MITS committee and her spiritual adviser, Geshe Samten, Yangchen will have a few weeks in seclusion, away from emails, mobile phones and work.

We ask for your understanding and compassion for Venerable Yangchen at this time, as she is extremely reluctant to leave her students temporarily, and is anxious for us all to know we are not being abandoned.  Yangchen intends to resume meditation classes 26th October 2010.  The schedule of class times may be re-structured, so check the website  www.meditationintheshire.com  for details.

The One Day Silent Retreat at Bundeena on 21 November 2010 will go ahead - go to www.meditationintheshire.com for details or email Aleta at retreats@meditationintheshire.com, to make your booking.  All other workshops for this year will be cancelled.

Venerable Yangchen has asked that her students continue to meditate regularly (daily is best!) at home, so that the benefits of meditation continue while she is away.  (It would be nice to dedicate the positive energy of your meditation to Venerable Yangchen's good health.)

If you have any queries about classes, please contact Aleta on 0410 441 942 or email to retreats@meditationintheshire.com.

  Respectfully

 Aleta
